Merry Summer Christmas

First of all, a belated Merry Christmas to all! Although I don't celebrate Christmas, it's a joyful time for all the enjoy and rest (Well otherwise, for some part of the world, it just mean more work-business!). Christmas ain't stereotypical like stories goes...snowy and stuff...Christmas's like an invitation to summer. As much as I don't like hot summer weather, it's the only time of the year where the beach receives the much appreciation and admiration.

Just few weeks ago, bro and I went to Sardinia Bay to escape the scorching heat of a summer afternoon.

After approx. 20mins of driving, we've reached our destination!

Weeeee!

What the...

Alien?

The beach just seems never ending...we just kept exploring...

Deserted...

Yeah...the waves are not playable...

Discovery and challenge of the day: Climb this!

Puff puff! It took me minutes to get to the top but this lady and her doggie seems to have no troubles at all....

The climb was worthwhile...the scenery from above is much better!

DESERTed...

We'll leave the exploration for next time...it'll take quite some time...

UPDATE UPDATE!!!

LOST: Where's my home....? I remember it was here?
Guess it's time to dust up my blog...been busy hanging around with friends lately for they had just finished their exams at university!

Firstly, I must say it's an undescribable feeling to be back at home. Although far away from hometown, it gave me an original "back-at-home" feeling. Most importantly, being back into parents' wings provides the utmost comfort and satisfaction. How I hope time will slow its tracks...as soon as school starts, I'll need to leave their sides again and wonder when these days will come again? Right now, I'm relishing every single second I'm spending with them!

The season transition this year seemed to delay for a month...by right it should be blazing hot summer but the temperature still seems to range between 15-23 deg. Guess I should be grateful cos I really dislike hot weathers!
Meeting up with past high school friends, I've been talking alot lately. There's just so much things to update each other. Surprisingly to them, i've not changed much - Really? Has the 10kg of fat done nothing to me? Most of them actually lost weight due to the stress from studies, but some esp. the whites BLOATED (vertically & horizontally), making me look like a hobbit!
I'm glad to see that everyone of them doing well in their studies, but at the same time, made me feel that I'm really behind them cos some will be graduating next year! I'm also surprised by the great passion each and every one of them displayed with regards to their course. This is something worth admiring and learnt.
At this moment, I'm still waiting for my application at University of Western Cape (Dentistry). They say they'll only announce the outcome in early January. As it's my first choice, I sincerely hope to get to know the outcome as early as possible so that arrangements can be made since school usually starts in Feb! If this application fails, I'll need to study at University of Cape Town (Chemical Engineering) which I have much less interest in. Didn't know waiting can be so torturing like a poison....haha...
Vegetables!
Flowers!
Say hello to the world!
I'm getting hungry again....
Desert-like sand dunes next to a river...
...and sea!
Roll~roll~~roll your boat....
...gently down the stream~~~
Sunset!

"Good you didn't forget about me...WOOF!"

Okaeri ~ I'm home (Part 4)

21 Oct 2008

Early in the morning we attempted to "climb" the Tygerberg Nature Reserve which is just above the place where we are residing. As there are different routes which will lead to the top, we took the "Golden Mole" route as recommended by my bro b'cos it's the longest route.

Insects pollinating...

Puff puff....
Looking from the starting point, the top seemed to be quite close but the route simply took us around, down & up the hill. It took us about 1 & half hours to reach our destination. The weather is sunny but cooling, so it's enjoyable climbing it. I guess the reason why it took us so long to reach our destination was that there were so many things to take photos. Almost all plants around us, right down to the grass-like plant on the ground were blooming with flowers! It's a pity that we didn't spot any golden mole but we manage to see not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 tortoises! The 1st & 2nd tortoise were medium size - guess it's the father or mother. The 3rd one was very tiny and fearful of us. It hid itself as soon as we got close. Guess this is mummy...

...daddy...

...& the baby...?

What the....
The 4th one was interesting. We were on our way down when my bro called us to decend cos there's dark clouds approaching. While I was still on the line with my bro, Susan-jie suddenly start shouting "AH AH...." and pointing at the route infront of us. Guess what, there's a giant (really big trust me) tortoise walking/running upwards towards us at a pretty shocking speed. This made me changed my stereotypical thinking of tortoise being slow! haha...

"Is it smiling? or is it my imagination..?"

Guess Susan-jie was also too shock to think what to do, I also blurred out lor. The giant tortoise stopped infront of us, looking cool with a strand of grass at the side of its mouth, as if waiting for us to give way. No choice at all, we *siam* to the side into the grass. It then look at us again before continue rushing up the slope...

"Sir, wait up...you you..."

"....you are speeding!!!"
